Independent Student Participation

Symphony Maths is a fully automated educational software program. Teachers do not need to place students at specific levels. Symphony Maths will automatically determine each student’s level of proficiency and learning style and then provide the appropriate learning experience.

Multi-Dimensional Branching

Educational software is often presented as a forward or backward march along a unitary path. Get some problems correct, the student moves forward. Make a few mistakes, the student stalls or regresses. The reality is that student learning profiles develop along multiple developmental pathways. Symphony Maths is designed to accommodate the complexity and uniqueness of each student. The program tracks student proficiency along three dimensions of learning (Representations, Concepts, Content) and adapts to student fluctuations in performance in real time.

Optimal Learning Flow

Symphony Maths is designed to be a highly engaging educational program. One of the keys to achieving high levels of student engagement is ensuring that the student learning experience is firmly situated within each student’s zone of Optimal Learning Flow. The zone of Optimal Learning Flow consists of each students area of challenge where the level of activity complexity is appropriately matched to their cognitive abilities. When this occurs students are neither bored nor overwhelmed, but fully engaged in the learning task at hand.

School-to-Home Connection

Symphony Maths is an internet enabled program. Student data is remotely hosted on the Symphony Learning servers. This provides students the opportunity of using Symphony Maths from any location with a computer that meets the necessary technical requirements. Teachers can assign Symphony Maths as homework because students will have access to the program and their current records at home.

Administration System

Symphony Maths offers an easy to use full feature administration system to setup and configure the program. Administration features include on-line access, student reports and customized lesson options.
